Sadiq Ango Abdullahi, son of Northern Elders Forum (NEF) convener Ango Abdullahi, has won the primary election for the Sabon Gari federal constituency.

Sadiq Ango Abdullahi is one among the 61 individuals being held captive after bandits ambushed and kidnapped passengers of the train AK-9 from Abuja to Kaduna on 28 March 2022.

Several outlets have stated that the bandits had released Sadiq, however his father, Ango Abdullahi, told Daily Trust that Sadiq has not yet been released. Former Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Ango Abdullahi, stated that he prays and hopes his son would be released soon.
