Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has stated that he is not frightened of former President Goodluck Jonathan or any APC presidential candidate (APC).
According to insiders, Jonathan has the backing of two governors and a large number of other APC players to defect to the governing party and choose the party’s presidential ticket for the 2023 election.
Governor Bello, however, stated in an interview with newsmen at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja on Wednesday, just after getting his expression of interest and nomination papers to run for president, “That is the beauty of democracy.”
“In a democracy, anybody may support anyone, but I can assure you that our great party, the APC, has its own ethics, norms, and regulations, and I am certain that all of these are in my favour, and I am in no way intimidated by anyone’s lineage.”
“I am convinced that I am in the majority; I have women, youth, and persons with disabilities all supporting me. I have leaders, I have followers, and most importantly, I have the all-powerful God.”
“Yahaya Bello is coming to the table to restore hope to the whole Nigerian people, the black race in Africa as a continent, and the entire world’s black people,” the governor stated.
“That is the hope we are bringing to the table in order to unify, to safeguard, and to move our nation and its people forward and upward.”
