Pastor Tunde Bakare, the running mate of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) in the 2011 presidential election, says he is believing in God to become the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2023 general election.
Tunde Bakare, told reporters in Abuja on Wednesday, after filing his expression of interest and ninatiom forms, that he has what it takes to defeat the other candidates.
He stated, “Every participant in a race must adhere to the rules. My prospects are comparable to those of any individual. I am excellently qualified by age, experience, and everything else that matters for this event. And I have faith that I will emerge victorious.
“We have fulfilled our end of the bargain, and it is now up to the other side to set the stage and tell us what comes next.” They will decide what comes next. Currently, I am aware that there will be screening, and that following screening, those who may have grounds for appeal will appeal.
“There will be primaries in the future, and by God’s grace, we have decided to run according to the rules and expect to win by His unique grace. My prospects are comparable to those of any individual. I am excellently qualified by age, experience, and everything else that matters for this event. And I have faith in God that I will prevail,” he concluded.
Bakare pledged to serve as a link between the past, present, and future in bringing about a new Nigeria during his lifetime.
