Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State, has stated that he is not anxious to become president in 2023.

Monday Kwankwaso revealed in an interview with Channels TV’s Politics Today.

He stated that he and others with similar views are members of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in order to alter the existing quo and save Nigeria from utter collapse.

Kwankwaso stated, “We are sick and weary with the outdated system as it currently exists. We joined the NNPP to bring about change. The method in which things are occurring in this country is unfavourable. Everyone is anxious about safety, and the economy is weak. Everything else regarding education and culture is in utter disarray.

“That is why I and others with similar views joined this party. Everyone must be brought together from the North and South. We have so much divide in the country due to the issue of religion and ethnicity, and it is our duty to motivate people to attend this celebration in order to ensure that all the people of this country are brought together and given equal chance.

“Nigerians are adamant that they want a competent president in 2023; someone with integrity and the ability to perform the job.

“We have beyond this degree of emotion. Many politicians, in my opinion, are slothful. I am not running for office in the North West because I am from there; I am running because I am a Nigerian. I have laboured so diligently for our nation; I have paid my dues as a federal servant for seventeen years.

“What Nigerians are saying is that they require the highest quality. I can promise you at any time that I am not someone who is yearning to become president.”
