Senator Ademola Adeleke has been recognised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the People Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the governorship election in Osun State on July 16.

In the final list of gubernatorial candidates provided by INEC on Friday, Adeleke was listed as the PDP contender.

The debate over who is the genuine PDP candidate has ended as a result of this development. Adeleke has been contested for the ticket by Prince Dotun Babayemi.

INEC also validated Adegboyega Oyetola, the incumbent state governor, as the All Progressive Congress’ candidate (APC).

Other candidates include Omigbodun Oyegoke of the Social Democratic Party, Abede Adetona Samuel of the National Rescue Mission, Oyelekan Akingbade of the Labor Party, Adebayo Adeolu Elisha of the Action People’s Party, Awoyemi Oluwatayo of the Allied People’s Movement, and Awojide Peter Segun of the African Action Congress.

Other candidates are Akande Victor Babalola of the Accord Party, Adesuyi John Olufemi of the ZLP, Kehinde Munirudeen Atanda of the ADP, Ademola Bayonle Adeseye of the YPP, Ayowole Olubusuyi Adedeji of the PRP, Saliu Rasak Oyelami of the NNPP, and Adeleke Adesoji Masilo Aderemi

The electoral authority dismissed three parties, AA, APGA, and ADC, for failing to follow the exercise’s requirements.
