In a surprising turn of events, actor Kenneth Okonkwo has switched parties and joined the Labour Party. He left the APC weeks ago because of the party’s plan to run a Muslim against a Muslim for president.
Okonkwo posted a message to his Instagram account this morning, August 24th, announcing his defection.
It was a great honour to be inducted into the Labour Party by the National Executive of the Party’s FCT branch on August 23, 2022, at the Supreme God House in Apo, Abuja. It was the visit of these esteemed representatives of this people-centric Party to our Chambers that ultimately led to my joining the Labour Party, and I feel so liked and treasured by them.
This will allow me to contribute humbly to the 2023 election of His Excellency, Peter Obi, as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, for the good governance of our dear country, which has been so blessed by God but has been so battered by evil leaders.
For this opportunity to join the Labour Party and help bring about decent government in Nigeria, I am grateful to the Dynamics Ambassadors for Peter Obi (DAPO), of which I serve as National Spokesperson.
By 2023, he said, “this divine mission of Peter Obi will be realised,” and he urged every Nigerian to help make it happen.
