Former Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu has stated that the Nigerian populace is not prepared to vote for Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate
Aliyu stated on Monday, June 20, on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm that the Peoples Democratic Party had been cheering for Obi to be Atiku Abubakar’s Vice President.
Babangida Aliyu predicts that Peter Obi will not win the presidency until at least 2027, despite the fact that he is popular among young people.
Aliyu stated, “Peter Obi is my close friend and a former member of my old Governors forum.”
“An exceptional person. Regarding his candidacy for the presidency, I believe he will build a name for himself today. However, he may not be able to make it until 2027 or 2031. But 2023? Too soon.
Even if young people may favour him, his name is not spreading elsewhere. I doubt Nigerians are prepared for him as president at this time.
“I would have delighted for him to have been Vice President. Many of us wanted him to be Atiku’s Vice President once more.”
