Former Senior Special Assistant to Ex-Governor Willy Obiano of Anambra State on Politics and Strategy, Chief Digar Ezenwafor, has emerged as the presidential candidate for a section of the Labour Party led by its former Deputy National Chairman, Callistus Okafor.

During his first tenure as governor of Anambra State, Ezenwafor worked with the party’s factional presidential candidate, Peter Obi, as his Chief of Protocol. He was elected at a national convention held in the Garki neighbourhood of Abuja.

Okafor presided over the convention as the acting national chairman of the party. Ezenwafor told the party’s delegates that he was in Nigeria on a rescue mission.

He said;

“I am on a rescue mission to free Nigerians from social, economic and political crises currently bedevilling it.”

Ezenwafor claimed that he studied under two former Anambra State governors and has the qualifications to lead the nation to economic freedom.

He emphasised that his viewpoint and actions were founded on the need to maintain justice, fairness, and equity, and that he had nothing against Obi, who had been presented as the presidential candidate of the other faction.
