Alhaji Alhassan Adamu’s seven family members have regained their freedom after two months in captivity.
Following an undisclosed ransom payment, they were released on Wednesday.
Three women, three men, and an infant were released
On July 11, 2021, a band of bandits stormed the emir’s residence and abducted him along with 12 others.
He was released 24 hours after the abduction, however.
A title holder in the emirate, Dan Iyan Kajuru Saidu Musa, said the children and grandchildren of the emir were still being held captive.
After his release, the monarch shed tears in front of his subjects.
