A magistrate’s court in Yaba, Lagos State, granted bail to 49 Yoruba Nation agitators following their arrest.

Human rights lawyers Olasupo Ojo and Oladapo Kayode were responsible for filing a motion for bail for the arrested by the umbrella organization for Yoruba self-determination groups, Ilana Omo Oodua (IOO).

Mr. Maxwell Adeleye, IOO’s Media Communications Secretary, said the agitators were to provide N300,000 each with two sureties.

Adeleye said;

"One surety must be a family member and the other must be a community leader or clergy with proof of tax payment."

The following individuals have been granted bail: Olasunkanmi Tanimola; Kabiru Lawanson; Chinemerem Emmanuel; Rasaki Musibau; Lukman Olalade; Olasanmi Oladipupo; Bashiru Shittu; Taofeek Abdusalam; Olamilekan Abata; Abdullahi Sikiru; Tosin Adeleye; Babatunde Lawal.

Others include Abiodun Taiwo, Adagunodo Babatunde, Oluwafemi Adeleye, Oloye Taiwo, Saheed Kareem, Adebayo Waheed, Akinbode Sunday, Lawal Akeem, Samuel Ire, Ogundile Dare, Oba Tajudeen Bakare.
