Two suspects have been arrested for allegedly killing their friend, Idris Bashir, who they owed N385, 000.
The state police spokesperson, ASP Mohammed Jalige, said in a statement that on June 5, Idris Bashir, the biological son of Bashir of Zaria town, left home on June 4 at about 10am and did not return, and he suspected that Mannir Salihu, the son’s friend, was responsible for the disappearance of his son..
After accepting the formal complaint, the Police are bound to conduct an investigation in order to unravel the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of the victim, leading the Command to immediately launch a manhunt for the suspect. Apprehending the suspect, he revealed that he and Aliyu Yahaya 'm' of No.94 Anguwan Magajiya, Zaria City lured the victim into an unfinished building where they killed him and dumped the body. In order to avoid refunding the sum of Three Hundred and Eighty Five Thousand Naira (N385,000.00), they committed the dastardly act of ending the victim's life in a gruesome manner.'' the statement read.
The suspect led the Police to the spot where the deceased Idris Bashir’s body was exhumed and taken to a hospital for examination before it was released to the family for burial according to Islamic customs, which was performed by the family themselves.
