Several days after the attack in Kauru, Kaduna state, the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) reports that twenty persons have been killed.

In addition to crossing a military-manned bridge, the bandits killed the inhabitants of two nearby localities, SOKAPU added.

A spokesperson for SOKAPU, Luka Binniyat, stated on Wednesday, August 4: “The attackers crossed the bridge at Bakin Kogi market and invaded Apiababun village in the Atyap Chiefdom, Zangon Kataf Local Council.

Two of her children’s bro-in-law’s children were also murdered, along with the pregnant woman, her two children (Bitrus and Samuel).

Naomi John, 32, was just a few days away from giving birth when the attackers, described as armed Fulani herdsmen, stormed her home on Tuesday about 10 a.m. and killed her.”

Michael John, Naomi’s brother-in-law, escaped with severe machete cuts, the group added.

A mass grave was reportedly dug up amid rumors of the killers’ return on Wednesday, August 4.
