Videos have emerged showing an Afghan police chief blindfolded and on his knees moments before he was executed by Taliban militants.
Video circulated online appears to show General Haji Mullah Achakzai handcuffed as two men, reportedly militants, converse in the background.
The police chief lies motionless as a man approaches him with a gun and shoots him.
He is believed to have been detained by the Taliban after they took over the area near the Turkmenistan border. He is in his sixties and a former police chief for Badghis Province.
It has taken just over a week for the Islamist militant group to gain control of Afghanistan, and it is now rumored that it is going door-to-door hunting for collaborators with the ousted regime.
Haji Mullah Achakzai was a sworn enemy of the Taliban who fought them for many years.
The video comes after the Taliban insisted there would be no retribution against former adversaries, as the group tries to gain legitimacy through the charm offensive.
