At the National Identity Day celebration, the anti-graft agency chief suddenly stopped speaking during his goodwill message.
When the incident occurred, the commission arrested a man in Ibadan, Oyo State, with 116 SIM cards.
“Please, excuse me, I can’t continue,” said Baba, covering his face with his right palm.
The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Pantami, and other senior officials assisted him to his seat.
However, the anti-graft czar slumped on his seat and was immediately escorted out.
Wilson Uwujaren, the spokesman for the commission, responded in a statement to the development by explaining that Bawa had since received medical attention and was now on his feet again.
A statement read: “This clarification was necessary following an incident today, September 16, 2021, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where he gave a goodwill message to the National Identity Day celebration, felt unwell, and had to return to his seat.
His medical condition has since improved and he should be back at work soon.”
