An angry mob killed a suspected armed robber in Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa state. Three men allegedly attacked a Point of Sale operator along Erepa Road on Wednesday May 26, and made off with undisclosed sums of money.
One eyewitness said the suspected robbers attempted to escape with stolen money, but were prevented from doing so by a tricycle accident.
The said robbers fired gunshots at the mob after the incident near the Isaac Boro Express Way at Custom road in Biogbolo in order to scare them away, but they were ultimately beaten by the mob.
One of the robbers was able to escape while the mob beat one to death before the police arrived and rescued the third.
The angry mob also burned down the Keke.
