Despite allegations to the contrary, the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) denies suspending Senator Rochas Okorocha.
Earlier, a letter about Okorocha’s suspension had been circulated on social media.
On Tuesday night, John James Akpanudoedehe, secretary of the CECPC, said the letter was forged.
The National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been made aware that a fictitious letter purporting to be an order of suspension of Senator Rochas Okorocha from the party is circulating in the public domain.”
Fifth columnists and forgers have taken advantage of the unfortunate and recent leaks of our official correspondences with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by copying and pasting forged signatures of the CECPC Chairman and Secretary onto equally false letters.
We do not have a “National Working Committee” as stated in the fake letter, but a Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) charged with repositioning, uniting, and strengthening our great party.
“We urge the discerning public to be wary of fifth columnists and jobbers who will use every opportunity to create a crisis within the party and polity by spreading fake news. To get information on party activities, we urge the media to always rely on our well-known and official channels of communication and punlicity.
“We urge everyone to disregard the fake letter, which is a figment of the imagination of fifth columnists.”
