Several people have been killed following bandit attacks in Kwata ward in Wushishi Local Government Area of Niger State.
During the attack, most of the victims were women and children running for their lives.
Several others reportedly ran into a river to escape the attack, but unfortunately drowned.
The bodies of the victims were being recovered and buried while several others remain missing, according to local sources.
It was also reported that seven people were shot by the bandits, out of whom four were confirmed dead while two others were receiving treatment at IBB Specialist Hospital, Minna.
A total of 14 people are said to have lost their lives, and the community is still counting its losses, as some families still have not found their members and relatives.
Bandits are also accused of rustling cows, stealing motorcycles, and kidnapping people, particularly girls.
