Armed men on Sunday raided the Cherubim and Seraphim church in Oba Oko, Ewekoro Local Government Area, Ogun State, resulting in the kidnapping of three congregants.

According to our source, the hoodlums invaded the church during a vigil in the early hours of Sunday and kidnapped three members: Ifeoluwa Alani-Bello, Adebare Oduntan, and Mary Oliyide.

According to sources close to the victims’ families, the kidnappers have reached out to them and requested an N6 million ransom to release them.

When contacted, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the state police spokeswoman, verified the occurrence.

He said that the state police command’s anti-kidnapping team had been despatched to the region to rescue the victims.

Oyeyemi reaffirmed the command’s caution to religious organisations not to organise vigils or prayer sessions in secluded regions where their members may be kidnapped.
