Customs officials in Nigeria have seized more than N300 million worth of illegal products from the country’s Federal Operations Unit Zone ‘C’.
Zone C Area Comptroller Ali Ibrahim reports that the seizures were made along several different routes within the zone, including the Umuikaa/Aba, Okada/ Benin, Benin/Auchi, and Enugu/Ubollo. Ali Ibrahim says that these routes were stopped.
Armoured Lexus LX570 vehicle, 294 bags of foreign parboiled rice hidden with RC minerals, old tyres and used apparel among others totaling N300 million are among the items seized by Nigeria’s anti-corruption agency.
Ibrahim stated that the Nigerian Customs Service’s success was attributed to an intelligence-driven network.
As a result, he said, the Nigeria Customs Service will maintain its high level of professionalism in the fight against smuggling.
