In less than 24 hours after the abduction of family members of lawmakers, bandits have made new abductions in Katsina State.
They abducted Alhaji Ahmed Abdulkadir, a retired NBC director, and his 15-year-old daughter, Laila, from Bakori Housing Units last night.
Bandits wielding AK 47 rifles also abducted three other residents.
Sources say that the victims’ homes were raided around 9pm.
Alhaji Bello Aminu Bakori, Shamsuddeen Aminu and Habibu Rabe, both of the Local Education Authority, Bakori, were also abducted.
In less than an hour after the abduction, vigilantes in the area mobilized and pursued them.
Three victims were reportedly freed after an exchange of gunfire between the local guards and the armed men in Danja Local Government Area.
According to reports, Abdulkadir and his daughter are still in captivity.
