Bandits dislodged from Zamfara have reportedly come into some communities of Kankara Local Government in Katsina State.
A large number of fleeing bandits has been moving into the area.
Residents of Pawwa village, who were in Katsina on Friday, told newsmen that the bandits have already mounted a gate where they conduct searches on commuters plying the Kankara-Zango road.
“Food and fuel are their main concerns now. Whenever they find food stuff, they collect it in their Jerry cans. Similarly, if they see fuel, they collect it.
A resident, who asked to remain anonymous, said two trucks loaded with food stuffs were ambushed about two days ago, and all the grains were taken.
Another resident confirmed the allegation, saying, “We want the security agencies to pay attention to the imminent threat to our safety.”.
The bandits were already free to roam in our area, but now we’re worried about how fast they’re expanding, suspecting they are fleeing military attacks in Zamfara.
