Bandits have abducted Islamiyya school pupils and one teacher in Sakkai village, Faskari Local Government Area, Katsina State.

The victims were abducted while attending evening lessons inside the school.

There are still few details about the incident.

As of the filing of this report, the victims’ whereabouts are unknown.

Three people were killed when bandits attacked Batsari town, the capital of Batsari Local Government Area in Katsina.

One of the victims, who happened to be our reporter’s aunt, died of cardiac arrest due to fear of gunshots from the bandits, according to a resident of Batsari.

The other two died from stray bullets, he said.

We learned later that the guards were in Dankar, a village surrounded by bandits, when the bandits reached Batsari.

Eight people were abducted by the gunmen during the attack, he said.

SP Gambo Isah, the Police spokesman in Katsina, said he would contact DPO Batsari for confirmation, but he could not comment on the Faskari incident because military is in charge of the area.
