Bandits have kidnapped a number of University of Abuja employees, Sources claim that the event took place in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The first reports of gunfire came in at 12:14 a.m., according to resident Dzarma Idris, before members of the staff were rushed away.

Idris was unable to confirm how many government personnel had been kidnapped from the nation’s capital’s university.

Despite the news being verified by the institution, no specifics have been released about the amount of employees who have been kidnapped thus far.

Staff quarters at the University were raided early this morning by suspected bandits.

“Our safety officers and security guards got to work securing the quarters,” he said.

“However, we have received word that four of our employees, together with their children, were kidnapped by the bad thugs.

A lot of work is being done to make sure they are safe and sound again. It’s a sad day for us, to be sure,” said the statement.
