Muhammed Sanni Idris, the state commissioner for information in Niger, has been kidnapped and ransomed for N500 million.

The kidnappers have since established contact with our correspondent in Minna, the state capital, to make their demands known.
“The kidnappers are demanding N500m ransom, while marathon security meetings have just ended at the government house, but no details have been released,” the source said.
Additionally, security meetings have been going on since the morning.
The demand of the abductors has yet to be confirmed officially.
