Attacks by bandits on local hunters and vigilantes retaliated against recent casualties recorded by bandits.
Our correspondent was told by Sani Kokki, a resident, that bandits launched the attack after hunters and local vigilantes returned to Galadima Kogo.
“The syndicate returned like wounded lions, killing everyone in sight.”. With dangerous weapons, they murdered and butchered their victims. “Unfortunately, the locals are now at the receiving end of the attack. They are unarmed and defenceless.”
Six people were confirmed dead in Unguwan Magiro in Madaka ward, Rafi Local Government Area; four in Farin Hula and five in Magami and environs, all in Manta ward.
Kuta, the headquarters of Shiroro Local Government, is considered a safer place for villagers to take refuge.
Although the Niger State Police Command could not confirm the attack, calls to Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Wasiu Abiodun, went unanswered. Our correspondent did not also reply to the text message he sent him.
