The parents of the schoolgirls abducted from the Federal Girls College Yawuri in Kebbi State have cried out for help, saying their daughters have been married off.

Some parents report that the kidnappers have been sending them video footage showing that their daughters are already married.

Almost two weeks have passed since the students were abducted from their school.

BBC Hausa reported that when the parents called the kidnappers, they told them their children were safe and healthy.

However, he said that the kidnappers were telling them that they didn’t want to negotiate with them but with the government.

Sometimes they call and give us their daughters so that we can talk to them. You can call your child if they have your number, but I have not spoken to my daughter since they were abducted,” he said.

Since the abduction, only 10 of the abducted girls have contacted their parents.

He said that some of the parents met with the state government of Kebbi.

“The governor expressed concern and said action would be taken, but we have not heard from him in two weeks,” he said.

Due to the approaching Eid, they are now living in fear.

“Everyone else lives happily in their houses, but we live in a state of anxiety.”

The government should help rescue their children from their abductors so they will have peace of mind.
