Brentford have signed Nigerian midfielder Frank Onyeka as their first signing of the summer.
For an undisclosed fee, the 23-year-old joins from FC Midtjylland. After signing a five-year contract in west London, he has already passed a medical and received a work permit.
Thomas Frank told the Bees website: ‘I am looking forward to having Frank in the building. I think he is a great addition to the squad, and I’m looking forward to working with him. A very dynamic player, he is.
When Frank is not in possession of the ball, he will be invaluable to us because he is a good runner from box to box.
“He came from the Danish league and was one of the best midfielders there. We believe he has the potential to develop further. Frank’s coaches all look forward to pushing him to a higher level.
Onyeka, who arrived in London on Monday, will now undergo quarantine before joining up with his new teammates.
