On the Lagos-Ibadan railway, four Chinese workers have been kidnapped.
An officer of the police attached to the group was also killed during the attack on Wednesday in the village of Kila, in the state of Ogun.
The gunmen wore black kaftans when they stormed the site of the rail project at Adeaga/Alaagba and killed the policeman while trying to abduct Chinese workers.
The expatriates were reported to have been ambushed in the surrounding forest.
Abimbola Oyeyemi, the police public relations officer in the state, confirmed the incident on Thursday, stating that eight gunmen ambushed the victims in the area.
In addition, the tactical team of the command has been mobilized to ensure the rescue of the abducted victims
The police spokesperson said around eight gunmen invaded Adeaga/Alaagba village, near Kila, in Odeda local government area of the state.
Until the perpetrators are arrested, nobody can determine the identity of the victims, the police spokesperson said.
Nevertheless, he promised to find and bring to justice the kidnapper, thus serving as a deterrent to others.
