After Christian Eriksen collapsed on the pitch during the first half of Denmark’s Euro 2020 opener against Finland, the match was suspended.
Just before half-time in Copenhagen, the Inter midfielder fell to the ground without any other players around him.
During the game, Eriksen’s teammates and referee Anthony Taylor called for immediate help from medical officials, who rushed onto the pitch to treat him.
As efforts were made to revive Eriksen, the players formed a protective barrier around him.
Both teams had players on the field in distress, as well as fans in the stands.
Taylor was seen consulting both coaches before the players were led off the pitch at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen.
In addition, UEFA stated that the match had been suspended because of a medical emergency.
