It has been reported that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) detained former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode on Monday in Lagos.
There was a report that Fani-Kayode was being investigated on suspicion of forgery and document manipulation.
According to our source, he was brought to the Lagos Zonal Office of the anti-graft agency on Tuesday.
According to Wilson Uwujaren, spokesman for the Nigerian Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Fani-Kayode was arrested by operatives.
Asked if he had any information, he answered, “I assume something like that happened.”
Nenadi Usman, a former Nigerian Finance Minister, and Fani-Kayode had been involved in a long-running feud with the EFCC.
A 17-count criminal conspiracy, fraud, and money laundering charge was brought against the duo and two others, totaling N4.9 billion.
Despite their denials, each of them was granted N250 million bail, and the charges were dropped.
