Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, has appealed to President Buhari to make life easier for the masses. On Thursday, the monarch called the president when he was at his palace.
In addition, he urged the president to improve security and combat inflation in the country.
We thank the President for this working visit and for strengthening his bonds with this royal house. The house belongs to them already. He visited the city on various occasions, especially during the reign of the late emir, both during celebrations and otherwise. There is no way to quantify the number of these visits,” he said.
All of his cabinet members should continue to do the right thing, especially where he could not hear.
“We hope that the project (the Kano-Kaduna standard gauge rail) will be completed soon.
“We also urge the President to help ease the lives of the people, particularly in the area of security and food security,” he added.
The president, for his part, said that the visit was necessary because the state governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has done the right thing with the state treasury and wants the people to see it.
“I am pleased with these projects. “These are projects he inherited, but since they are people-focused projects, he was able to finish them and to add new ones,” he said.
Moreover, I feel that I cannot visit Kano without paying homage to his Highness. I am pleased with what I see. “Thank you so much,” he said.
In his earlier remarks, the governor said another chapter in Kano’s history has been written.
“The President is in Kano to commission the rail line from Kano to Kaduna, which is part of the railway line connecting Lagos, Ibadan, and Kaduna.
A similar rail line connects Kano, Katsina, Jibiya, and Maradi in the Niger Republic, he said.
