Britney Spears has married her longtime lover Sam Asghari, a spokeswoman for Asghari revealed on Friday. The couple has been together for nearly six years.
Brandon Cohen of BAC Talent, who represents Asghari, stated in an emailed statement the day following the couple’s nuptials, “I am delighted that this day has arrived and they are married.”
“I am aware that he has desired this for a very long time. He is extremely compassionate and encouraging throughout the entire process. I am so fortunate to have Sam in my life, and I cannot wait to see what they will accomplish together in the future.”
The couple announced their engagement on Instagram in September 2021, but no wedding date was given.
The “Stronger” singer was released from a formal conservatorship that had governed her personal life and finances for thirteen years two months later.
During court hearings, Spears expressed a desire to marry and establish a family without constraints.
Variety, a Hollywood trade journal, alleged that Spears’ first husband, Jason Alexander, trespassed on her property on her wedding day.
Citing the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, the report stated that deputies were dispatched to Spears’ residence in response to a trespassing complaint and that Alexander was detained on an out-of-county warrant. The Sheriff’s Office could not be reached immediately for comment.
In 2004, Spears married her childhood friend Alexander in a surprise wedding in Las Vegas, but the marriage was dissolved shortly thereafter. She married dancer Kevin Federline nine months later, and the couple had two children. In 2007, this marriage terminated in divorce.
In April, Spears, 40, announced that she and Asghari were expecting a child. A month later, the singer revealed that she had miscarried.
Asghari, a 28-year-old personal trainer and actress of Iranian descent, has been on the Showtime series “Black Monday.”
