Chinedu Nwadike, a former dancer of Igbo gospel artist Gozie Okeke and special assistant on mobilization to former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, has died.
Chinedu Nwadike, a well-known gospel singer, has died. Chinedu, 39, reportedly died in Abuja on Sunday afternoon following a battle with blood cancer.
He had recovered from kidney problems and was set to be flown to India for treatment of his blood malignancy, according to reports.
The “Oku Gbajie Aka” singer had asked for financial assistance from notable Nigerians and others before his death.
The gospel musician, who has been in various gospel music videos, was diagnosed with kidney disease a few months ago. Since then, he’s been raising money to help with his medical bills. The musician has appealed to all Nigerians to come to his aid in order for him to survive his life-threatening illness. He has been admitted to the Zenith Medical Centre in Abuja, where he is being treated.
Some celebrities have given to his treatment, including millionaire businessman Emeka Okonkwo, commonly known as E-money, who donated N250,000, and celebrity native doctor Akwa Okuko, who donated a million naira. His old employer, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, the ex-governor of Imo State, paid him a visit in the hospital last week. Chinedu is married to Sorochi Dora and has three children with her.
