Muslim cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi said only “a fool will allow his home to be a battlefield” in a rebuttal against President Muhammadu Buhari’s media adviser Femi Adesina.
The author of a recent article, Adesina, stated that bandits aren’t going anywhere as he praised the military offensive on bandits in the North West, claiming that a bandit-lover was all out against it.
Sheikh Gumi responded in an article posted on his verified Facebook account, “You bootlicker who called me a bandit-lover! I am not only my country-lover, but also my region-lover, my state-lover, my people-lover, and my humanity-lover.”
Gumi disagreed many times with the Federal Government’s treatment of bandits.
If Nigeria is serious about ending banditry, bandits must be forgiven and given amnesty.
Bandits should be treated the same as civil war instigators and those who committed treasonable offences, he argued

“I have a Ph.D. from abroad. I am an Islamic scholar who understands the immorality of killing innocent people. In this ocean of oblivion, silence is not an option for me.
