Five people were abducted by those who killed Omoyele Sowore’s younger brother, the publisher of Sahara Reporters.
On Saturday morning, Sowore announced the death of Felix Olajide, his younger brother.
In describing the incident as shocking, the publisher asserted that the law will catch up with his sibling’s killers.
Sowore wrote on Facebook: “My younger brother, Olajide Sowore, was killed today in Okada in Edo state by reportedly herdsmen/kidnappers while on his way from Igbinedion University where he was studying pharmacy.”
Edo State Police Spoeksman, Bello Kontongs, confirmed the tragic incident, saying the deceased was shot by suspected kidnappers.
The victim was killed about 6:45 a.m. in the Isuwa community along the Lagos- Benin expressway.
Five people travelling with the deceased were kidnapped, he said.
The victim’s corpse has been deposited at the Igbinedion University Teaching Hospital, Okada, according to him.
He said efforts are being made to rescue the five kidnapped people.
