Boko Haram members are said to have stolen five tractors and burned down two others in Ngelbuwa, Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.
It was reported that the insurgents invaded the town and forced a resident to show them the houses of the tractor drivers.
Nuhu Baba Hassan, chairman of the North East Commodity Association (NECAS), Yobe State chapter, confirmed the attack, saying three tractors belonged to the NECAS Borno and Yobe offices were damaged.
Hassan said he was gunned down by the driver of a tractor, which he was in charge of.
Bitrus Mamuda Saleh, Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Buni Yadi and others confirmed the attack. Saleh said that Muhammad Mustapha, Chairman of the Borno State chapter of NECAS, reported that suspected Boko Haram insurgents attacked their tractors at Ngelbuwa village in Gujba, and took four tractors belonging to the Borno State government.
Two NECAS tractors were also set ablaze by the insurgents.
