Heikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, organizer of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, has been charged again by the Kaduna State government.
A Kaduna State high court discharged and acquitted the embattled IMN leader yesterday.
The state government had filed eight charges against Elzakzaky and Zeenat, all of which were unfounded. On Wednesday, the state justice dismissed and acquitted them in all the cases.
The state government, however, was not satisfied with the ruling, and on Thursday filed seven more charges against the IMN leader.
Daris Bayero, the state director of public prosecution, told Channels Television that the charges concern treason against the state and federal government.
According to him, some of the IMN leader’s actions that are being accused of fresh charges predate 2015.
According to Bayero, the court will order Elzakzaky’s arrest for answering the charges as a result of the fresh charges.
