Ghana’s High Commission in Nigeria has denied a disparaging comment about Nigeria attributed to Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo.
Akufo-Addo is reported to have made some provocative remarks, asking Nigerians to return to their country and improve it.
According to the Ghana High Commission in Nigeria, Akufo-Addo never made such a statement. The report was inaccurate and the work of detractors looking to sow discord between Nigerian and Ghanaian leaders and their people.
“The attention of Ghanaian officials has been drawn to another false publication by faceless individuals hell-bent on destroying the very cordial and brotherly relations existing between our leaders (President Akufo Addo and President Buhari).
Akufo Addo has never and will never make disparaging remarks about any country or people, let alone a very strategic partner like the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
This is obviously the work of people who hate the progress our two leaders are making to forge more strategic relations between them. The said publication is false and should be understood as the work of detractors who want to sow discord between our leaders and people.”
