Atiku Abubakar, the Emir of Zurmi, has been suspended by Governor Bello Matawalle for alleged banditry.
At least 61 people were killed in a bandit attack on Friday, June 11 in the Zurmi local government area of the state.
Belo Suleiman, who holds the title of ‘Bunun Kanwa’, has been tasked with taking charge of the affairs of the emirate, pending the report of a committee conducting an investigation into the matter.

The members of the committee are tasked with investigating allegations made against Sultan Abdullah, on his involvement in escalating banditry attacks.
