Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has signed the anti-Open grazing bill into law.
The governor signed the bill on Monday, joining some of his southern counterparts.

On Monday September 20, Sanwo-Olu signed the bill at the Lagos House. Wale Ajetunmobi, the Governor’s aide on print media, confirmed the development. 

According to Ajetunmobi; 

“Breaking! Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, this afternoon, signs the bill prohibiting open cattle grazing in Lagos into law."


The Lagos State House of Assembly passed a bill entitled “A bill to prohibit open cattle grazing in Lagos State, the trespass of cattle land, and for other connected purposes” on Thursday, September 9, 2021.

Lagos is now the fourth southern state to sign the anti-open grazing law into law after Rivers, Ondo, Enugu, and Akwa Ibom.
