Indigenous People of Biafra Lawyer (IPOB Lawyer), Barrister. Ifeanyi Ejiofor explains why IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu has not been able to send an audio or video message to his supporters since he was arrested by the DSS in June.
A member of IPOB asked that question to the counsel on Tuesday, August 24.
In a Facebook update, Ejiofor revealed his meeting with IPOB leader, causing concern among IPOB supporters.
Henry, a fan, asked Barrister when you next see him, could you take a video with him for us! Let’s listen to him! I have my own worries, though!”
In response, Ejiofor explained that he was not allowed to do so due to the law governing the facility where he is being held.
“It’s not allowed in their environment but we are figuring out something even more formal.”, Ejiofor said. I have already applied formally for it. I will keep you posted.”
After the DSS failed to provide Kanu with a lawyer last month in Abuja, the trial of the 53-year-old will begin in October.
