An arrestee in the search on Justice Mary Odili’s home has claimed to be Abubakar Malami, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, and that he is a consultant to him.

On Thursday, Ajojo, who claimed to be a Chief Superintendent of Police, was paraded by the police in Abuja and stated this.

Assailants barged into the judge’s Abuja home on October 29, 2021.

An outcry had been triggered by the occurrence. Malami, who had previously distanced himself from the invasion, had been named as a possible suspect.

Ajojo, when confronted with the media after his arrest, claimed that Malami had no knowledge of the raid.

Mr. Odili’s residence was never raided because “I am not an official of the Nigerian Police, but an AGF consultant; he did not order us to do so.”

Malami, on the other hand, denies Ajojo’s assertion that he is one of his consultants.

His media assistant, Umar Jibrilu Gwandu, released a statement on Malami’s behalf in which he suggested that critics may be at work.

According to Gwandu, “With all the competent, high-level professionals and capable human resources available at the Honourable Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, it only takes the imagination of evil minds to assume or think that a quack or fake police officer will serve as his consultant.”

Mab, the force’s public relations officer at the time of the raid, said that Malami had requested an investigation.

According to him, the IGP has ordered a thorough probe into the event.

An earlier written appeal was also sent to the IGP’s office by the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Justice Minister to urge an inquiry into the situation with the goal of uncovering who was involved, what their intentions were, and whether there were any powers behind them.
