Hope Uzodinma challenged Nigerians to provide reasons why the All Progressives Congress (APC) should not win the general elections in 2023.
The Imo state governor told reporters after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, June 8, that nobody has really accused the Buhari-led administration of failure.
Uzodinma also claimed that part of the problem facing this government is the deliberate effort by some people to pull it down.
“One of the problems of this government is the deliberate effort by some people to pull (it) down.
“Because nobody ever tells me that this government is not performing, that salaries are not being paid, or that the roads are not being constructed, or the railways are not being built, or that the intervention funds for the empowerment of our youth are not being given.
“Nobody has come out in concrete terms to accuse this government of one failure or another. Herdsmen and farmers are fighting and as a result 200 people are kidnapped. There are people shot down and killed there.
What would you like the government to do? We need to be realistic. Pragmatism is what I believe in. Doing things right is important to me. Would anyone like to come up with one, two, three, or four reasons why this APC should not win the next election?
“All I hear is that this is due to insecurity, and that is due to insecurity. You send people out in the night to cause trouble and then blame the government the next day.”
In response to Governors defecting to the APC, the Governor said;
“Many governors in Nigeria will join the APC, not only from the South-east.”
