In Borno State, a Brigadier-General was killed in an ambush by militants from the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP).

According to reports, three more troops were killed in the event, which took place at Bulguma, a few kilometers outside of Askira town in the Askira Uba Local Government Area.

According to reports, soldiers from the 28th Task Force Brigade, Chibok, had mobilized to give reinforcements in the Askira area, which was under siege.
