When suspected Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) members stormed Damboa Local Government Area in Borno State on Thursday evening, at least four people were murdered, including three police officers, and an unknown number of others were wounded.

According to a security source, three vehicles were set on fire after the intruders overcame them and gained entrance to the premises.

According to him, the assailants set fire to Civilian JTF and Vigilante offices along Biu Road, as well as a police vehicle.

According to the report, a stray gunshot struck and killed an innocent girl.

“We’ve lost four people so far, including three Mobile Police officers and a teenager who was injured by stray gunshots.”

“They burned three police vehicles and a vigilante patrol truck,” a source stated.

Hundreds of residents fled their houses when ISWAP and security personnel traded gunfire in Damboa town, according to the Daily Trust.

Similarly, suspected ISWAP militants invaded Borno state’s Kala-Balge local government area on Thursday night, but were met with a rapid reaction from forces.

The event happened at 11:30 p.m. in Rann town, the capital of Borno Central’s Kala-Balge local government district.
