There was an attack on a community hospital and a telecoms tower in Mugumeri Local Government Area of Borno State on Wednesday by fighters of the Islamic States of West African Province (ISWAP).
According to a witness, after attacking the local government buildings, they opened fire in all directions.
Our reporter learned that the intruders stole various medical supplies, including medications.
According to a security source, they have split into two factions.
According to the source, a second group of ISWAP militants broke into the hospital while the military was engaged in a gunfight with one of the groups. They stole medications, a refrigerator, and some bedding.
Fired down Airtel Mast and pillaged a hospital as they stormed the town from behind.
“They left with narcotics, a refrigerator, and some bedsheets,” a source told the New York Times.
Magumeri, the state capital, lies around 40 kilometers distant.
