An attack on Faith Academy, owned by Bishop David Oyedpo and owned by the Living Faith Church Worldwide, was thwarted in the early hours of Monday.

The school is not far from a boarding school in Chikun local government area of Kaduna State where many students were abducted.

According to Daily Trust, gunmen attacked both Bethel secondary school and Faith Academy in the early morning hours of Monday.

The attack on Faith Academy was foiled while they abducted students from Bethel School.

According to our correspondent, the gunmen broke into Faith Academy through the back fence around 1am, but were defeated by soldiers with help from the school security team.

Parent of a student at the school told our correspondent that the school management instructed all students last week to go home, except SS3 students who are preparing for final exams.

Students in SS3 have been relocated to Barnawa in Kaduna south local government area, where they will continue their studies.

According to her, security agents responded promptly to the attack to ensure that her son and others who were in the hostel during the attack were safe and are now out of harm’s way.

ASP Mohammed Jalige, the Public Relations Officer of the Kaduna State Police Command, said he could not confirm the information but security agents were busy thwarting attacks throughout the night.
