A large contingent of EFCC officers swarmed into the offices of KASUPDA in Kaduna State on Monday, seizing Director-General Malam Ismail Umaru Dikko and taking him away.
Having demolished homes throughout the state, KASUPDA has come to be known as the most dreaded agency in Kaduna.
In 2019, Dikko, the agency’s chief, was promoted from his position as Nasir El-Special Rufai’s Assistant to that of agency head.
In accordance with information obtained by Daily Trust, the DG was in a meeting with his employees when EFCC officers stormed the office just after 10am.
As reported by eyewitnesses, there was considerable disturbance prior to the Director-General of the EFCC stepping out of his black hilux Toyota car.
According to reliable sources, the KASUPDA chief was escorted into the car by two EFCC agents dressed in suits and armed with guns.
KASUPDA employees reportedly attempted to stop the EFCC from departing with the DG earlier and security guards stopped the vehicle from leaving.
Security had been requested to unlock the gate by DG.
We learned from a reliable source that the DG had been brought to the EFCC’s Kaduna zonal office after he had previously been issued with numerous invitations but failed to answer.
