Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, says the military sends bandits to God for their sins.
The presidential spokesman made this statement in response to the ongoing military operation in the North West.
Adesina wrote that criminals terrorizing Zamfara, Kaduna and Niger among other states were given a chance to turn over a new leaf, but they refused.
Bandits, criminals, and evildoers are being pounded from the aforesaid thousand daemon forests in Zamfara, Kaduna, and Niger.
They are being spoken to in the language they understand and sent to God to answer for their sins in their scores, scores upon scores. There has never been a time when one has been more proud of our military.
“Before they got to this sorry point, they had the chance to turn a new page. Many states, including Zamfara and Katsina, offered dialogue.
“The governments tried negotiating with them, but they were contumacious. They refused to hear the hunters’ whistle, as if they were destined for destruction. There was sorrow, tears, and blood, ‘dem regular trademark’ (as Fela Anikulapo-Kuti would say). The shoe is now on the other foot.
“When the Nigerian Air Force strikes from the sky in the different evil forests, the remaining evildoers flee immediately. They are then picked off like flies by the ground troops.”
Additionally, Adesina said that the Buhari administration is committed to solving problems, and the insecurity ravaging the country will soon be history.
A government exists to solve problems, and President Buhari has been committed to doing just that. People, out of evil hearts and petty political gain, want it to be the definition of government,” he said.
“He was unable to secure the country. Under him, thousands of citizens were killed. However, they will be shocked! Insecurity will soon be a thing of the past.”
