The abductors of two children and seven adults at Anguwar Kwankwashe in Suleja, Niger State, have lowered their demand from N100 million to N50 million.

On Monday morning, suspected kidnappers invaded some houses in Anguwar Kwankwashe and took away two children and five adults.

Family members of one of the kidnapped victims, who wished to remain anonymous, said they were able to establish contact with the kidnappers on Tuesday, saying they are asking for N100 million.

After intensive negotiations from Tuesday until Thursday morning, the kidnappers cut down the ransom to N50 million, he said, adding that some security men have been combing the forest to find the kidnappers’ hiding spot.

“It was after so much pleading that they now brought the ransom down to N50 million, even though the families are still begging them to do so,” he said.

CSP Adamu Mohammed, the Madalla Divisional Police Officer (DPO), was not able to be reached to confirm the report because his phone was not working.
